We spent a lovely 5 or so days in California visiting Marie's family. There was a cooking contest going on for Thanksgiving and thus were several kinds of stuffing and vegetables. It was a delightful meal and we enjoyed a game of ultimate frisby with the cousins afterward. My dad gave us a 1965 cherry red Volkswagon Karmann Ghia which we brought back to Utah with us. We are excited to started working on that project. We spent Friday night watching my brother Matthew lay football. They got to the second round of playoffs this year, but lost to the team which won the state championship last year.
We decorated for Christmas this week and even purchased a real Christmas tree for our apartment. We plan to celebrate Christmas at our apartment, so it has to look cute.

Thanksgiving is in just two weeks. We are so excited, both to see family and to get a new car. My dad is giving us a 1965 Volkswagon Karmann Ghia which we will tow back with us on the return trip to Utah.
The semester is winding down well. I just finished my final nursing lab...ever!! And I only have one week left of ICU clinicals. I can't believe I will be done with college in less than 6 months. BYU has been good to me, but I am excited to have the days of homework slowly slipping away. I cannot wait until April. We are happy as ever. Landes is doing well in all of his classes and is continuing to work on Law School applications. The days of law school make me nervous, but excited at the same time. It will be a great adventure.
Another week of midterms is keeping stress levels fairly high, but we try to enjoy spending time together. We baked a cake together on Monday, and ate it while watching family search videos in preparation for our callings as family history director and consultant. I taught an infant CPR/1st aide class at a relief society meeting this week. I even borrowed the CPR dummies from BYU. On the menu for us this week will be 2 midterms each, my last day of clinical, and a Thanksgiving celebration at work. Hopefully we'll be able to squeeze more fun in there as well.

Landes is beginning Law School applications this week or so...trying to narrow down schools to apply to. I just sent in my application for capstone, trying to decide which area I want to start my nursing career in. I hate making decisions. Perhaps my least favorite thing. A few months ago, I got my LPN license and am currently working 3 days a week at my first nursing job. It's been pretty good to me, although I am still scared to death sometimes. Alas, what can you do. Date night was fun this week. On Monday, we drove up to Lehi and watched Jekyl and Hyde, the musical theater version of course. It was delightful. Although a girl near us fainted in the middle of the production and Landes says..."nurse-wife, help" and switched me seats so I would be closer. I thought she was having a seizure and turned her to her side, but her mom informed me that she passes out a lot. The family promptly left the theater. I hope it wasn't something serious. The show was enjoyable and the songs catchy. Halloween should be pretty fun. I have to work the morning shift and I am planning to dress as a princess for work, with my new purple scrubs. We have purchased a pumpkin and will hopefully find the time to carve it soon. I also have plans to make sugar cookies. I love holidays. We have been married for over 4 months now and it has been fantastic. I love being with my best friend all the time.
